A Big Update for OPPO’s Flagship
OPPO has released a large software update for its flagship smartphone, the Find X8 Ultra, currently being deployed in China. The update, sized at about 1.38GB, carries the build number PKJ110_16.0.3.500 (V120P02). It introduces new visual features, camera upgrades, AI improvements, and enhanced charging options, along with the January 2026 Android security patch.
Visual Enhancements
One of the standout additions is the 3D wallpaper function, which creates depth effects from still images. Users can set these wallpapers on the lock screen for a more immersive experience. The Fluid Cloud feature has also been updated to display weather warnings, improving safety for users on the move. Music lovers will appreciate expanded support for lyrics in QQ Music and NetEase Cloud Music.
Camera and Gallery Upgrades
The camera system has received significant improvements. Users can now shoot in a 65:24 ultra‑wide aspect ratio, giving photos a cinematic look in photo, night view, and master modes. The gallery app adds 50MP no‑degradation editing, allowing high‑resolution photos to be edited without losing quality. This gives photographers more flexibility when adjusting images after shooting.

Smarter Charging and Power Supply
The update introduces a bypass power supply feature, which helps reduce heat and battery wear during heavy use such as gaming, video streaming, or navigation. Instead of routing power through the battery, it supplies energy directly to the device. Additionally, the phone now supports the 55W PPS charging protocol, enabling fast charging even with some third‑party chargers.
AI and Smart Car Integration
AI functions have been expanded, with improved voice transcription in meeting and call apps. The XiaoBu Memory feature now automatically categorizes spending and allows custom categories. For in‑vehicle use, the update supports lossless audio playback in smart car systems, better navigation linkage, and automatic SMS replies for incoming calls.
Security and Privacy Improvements
The update strengthens privacy with enhanced file sharing and search functions in the private safe. Quick browsing via slide gestures has also been added. Most importantly, the January 2026 security patch improves overall system safety.
Looking Ahead
According to tech blogger Sujit Ram, this update makes the OPPO Find X8 Ultra more polished and versatile. “With 3D wallpapers, advanced camera editing, and smarter charging, OPPO has raised the bar for flagship smartphones,” he explains.
While the rollout is currently limited to China, users in other regions are eager to see if OPPO will extend the update globally.
