The tech world is buzzing again — this time with leaks and rumors about the Nothing Phone (3). The company known for its Glyph backlight is planning to say goodbye to that very feature.
A recent teaser from Nothing says “ending something,” and it’s strongly hinting at removing the Glyph interface from the upcoming phone.
For those who don’t know, the Glyph interface uses LED lights on the back to notify users of calls, messages, and other alerts. It’s one of Nothing’s signature features and is loved by tech fans for its visual and customizable alerts. Therefore, removing it is both daring and surprising.
New Design or Just Simpler?
So what’s next if Glyph goes away?
Some think Nothing will go minimalistic, a cleaner and more premium look. But there’s also hope that the company is cooking up something entirely new — another innovative feature to replace Glyph and keep that wow factor alive.
A Real Flagship in the Making
The Phone (3) will be Nothing’s first real flagship phone, powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
It might come with:
- A new main camera sensor
- Periscope zoom lens for better telephoto shots
- Battery over 5,000mAh for extended use
All signs point to a serious upgrade in power and performance.
Bigger Specs, Bigger Price
With better hardware comes a bigger price tag.
Co-founder Carl Pei has confirmed that the Phone (3) will be more expensive than previous models. It’s rumored to cost around £800 in the UK, compared to the iPhone (2)’s starting price of £580.
At this price, it’s going to compete with iPhone 16 and Galaxy S25, a move to the mainstream flagship space.
