Honor to Launch a Smartphone with 8,000mAh Battery and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1?

A leaked chatter of sorts on Weibo to trickle low-cost 512GB and 1TB storage capacity variations of the OPPO Find X6 has generated great interest in the smartphone show. A tipster revealed details of an upcoming smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and 8,000mAh battery. Interestingly, the source stated that this device isn’t from either Redmi or Oppo, prompting speculation that Honor is a possible manufacturer behind this interesting news.

Is Honor the Mystery Manufacturer?

From its innovative flagship lineup entry known as the X50 series to its powerful X60 series of smartphones, one can hardly think of Honor without considering what interesting aspects the company will bring to smartphones. Among its list of devices that it has been testing is an unreleased model running a 2024 Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with a 5,800mAh battery. This would make sense as the speculation suggests Honor could be upping its game with a bigger battery in the next launches.

The Honor X60 GT, initially expected in January 2025, has yet to make its debut. This delay fuels further speculation that Honor could be planning a significant update, possibly integrating the 8,000mAh battery into this model.

Performance Meets Longevity

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 might not be the newest chipset available, but it’s still an absolute powerhouse when it comes to performance. Add an 8,000mAh battery to this and we may have the successor to the aforementioned model as the phone for the longevity, power-friendly users.

Awaiting Confirmation

So far, these details are not confirmed and should be considered speculative. Still, if Honor ever employs such impressive specs in its upcoming phone, we wonder if that would be a breakthrough for phone innovations focusing on rugged use and battery longevity.
