Apple has officially unveiled the Apple Watch SE 3, the latest addition to its affordable smartwatch lineup. Announced alongside the iPhone 17 series, Watch Series 11, and Watch Ultra 3 during Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event, the SE 3 marks the first major update to the SE range in three years.
Always‑On Display Comes to SE
For the first time, the SE series gets the Always‑On Display (AOD) feature. This means you can check the time, notifications, and key information without lifting your wrist. Despite the AOD being active, Apple claims the battery will still last up to 18 hours on a single charge.
Powered by the New S10 Chip
Under the hood, the SE 3 runs on Apple’s latest S10 chip, delivering faster performance and new gesture controls. Users can now double‑tap or snap their fingers to interact with the watch more easily. The chip also improves Siri’s ability to access and record health data, making it more useful for fitness and wellness tracking.
Health and Safety Features
Even though it’s the budget‑friendly model, the SE 3 doesn’t compromise on health tools. It includes fall detection, collision detection, and the new Workout Buddy feature to keep you motivated during exercise sessions.
Fresh Design and watchOS 26
The smartwatch runs watchOS 26, introducing a sleek Liquid Display interface. The body is made from lightweight aluminum and comes in two colors — Midnight and Starlight. Buyers can choose between 40mm and 44mm case sizes.

Price and Availability
The Apple Watch SE 3 is available for pre‑order now and will hit stores in select countries from September 19, 2025. In the US, it’s priced at $249 (around ₹20,700), making it one of the most affordable ways to join the Apple Watch family.
With its mix of premium features and a lower price tag, the SE 3 is set to appeal to first‑time smartwatch buyers and Apple fans looking for value.
